Today we again are anticipating a meeting of the Eurogroup on Greece. The finance ministers of the euro zone member states will discuss the application of Athens for an extension of the bailout. And we again are analysing our latest poll in which we asked you, What do you think the options open to Alexis Tsipras’ government are?

As usual, we begin with the Bulgarian page of the site on which 31% of readers are of the opinion that the government of SYRIZA will continue its hard line regarding the lenders, even if it results in bankruptcy and GREXIT. 28% of respondents believe that SIRIZA will soon collapse which will lead to a cabinet reshuffle and to finding new coalition partners. 24% see a possible compromise with the lenders in order for Greece not to go bankrupt. The option that Tsipras will hold new elections or a referendum "for" or "against" staying in the euro zone is the preference of 17% our readers and ranks last in terms of votes.

Readers of the English page of the site are more explicit. 37% of them believe that the government of Alexis Tsipras will defend its firm policy, even if it results in bankruptcy or GREXIT. 33% of respondents prefer the option that a compromise is possible for the purpose of avoiding bankruptcy. The disintegration of SYRIZA and the search for new coalition partners are possible according to 18% of readers and 12% expect new elections or a referendum "for" or "against" the euro zone.

Readers’ vote on the Greek page of the site is the most categorical. 50% believe that the government will make a compromise with the lenders in order for Greece not to go bankrupt. 25% believe that SYRIZA will disintegrate soon and will seek new coalition partners. The last two options have 13% of the votes each - one of them says that the government will continue to follow its firm policy and the other that new elections or a referendum on staying or leaving the euro zone are possible too.

As Greece’s Minister of Finance is one of the most active figures in the negotiations with the lenders, the question in our new poll is the following: What do you think of Greek Minister of Finance Yanis Varoufakis? Do not forget to justify your vote in the section for comments below the poll.
