The Greek police report that they have arrested the father of 4-year-old Ani Borisova who disappeared on 21 April in the centre of Athens. The man is charged with murder and he himself directed the alleged disappearance of the child, reads the official announcement of the police. The child's passport shows that the father's name is Dimitar Borisov.

The child’s mother and father were taken into custody and gave constant testimony to the prosecutor, often falling into contradictions and changing their statements.

Having considered all facts known to date, the Athens prosecutor has decided that there are sufficient grounds to bring charges of murder against the 27-year-old man, the major evidential burden undoubtedly being the drops of blood from the child found in the house of the father-killer on Michail Voda Street in the centre of Athens. Several witnesses also confirmed the guilt of the father in their testimony.

By Monday noon, the alert system used in the event of missing minors Amber Alert was in action in the streets of Athens and the photograph of the child could be seen in many places in the Greek capital.

The police are warning that the child’s body has not yet been found. It is noted that the parents of murdered Ani Borisova on 12 May will face the court on another charge, namely the illegal possession of drugs that were found in their home after the disappearance of Ani.
