** Aris Velouchiotis is the legendary commander of the Greek People's Liberation Army, the armed branch of the National Liberation Front EAM, at the time of the German occupation of Greece during World War II. After the war, he opposed the decision of the party to cease military activity and returned to the mountains along with his armed followers, and the party excluded him for that reason.
