The testimony of Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his alleged victim will be crucial for the court

The case was brought after a complaint of a woman against a hospital doctor. She could not prove the sexual abuse, but other women who described how they were victims of his actions in similar conditions appeared in the court too. When the doctor decided to challenge the court decision in the Administrative Court it did not accept his complaint under the weight of the evidence and the doctor was deprived from his professional rights forever.

According to Sofia Spiliotopoulou, the European legislation and the changes in the existing law in Greece in 2010 to change the weight of proof is a very important step. This effectively means that not the victim of sexual abuse must prove the truth of her complaint but that the offender must prove his innocence. The specific regulation is expected to be included in the Greek Code of criminal procedure.
