For his part, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has ordered the Deputy Minister of Interior to begin drawing up a new bill that will accept the opinion of the Supreme Administrative Court. The communication of the Prime Minister’s office states, "Establishing a legal framework for the granting of citizenship in compliance with the present EU requirements and the specifics of the conditions in the European south is one of the election promises of the government". GRReporter recalls that during the election period and even earlier, Antonis Samaras had stated firmly that the cancellation of the law voted by the PASOK government would be one of his first tasks.
