The Office of the Prime Minister believes that the visit to the USA will strengthen Samaras’s leadership profile, and a lot of his future activities in the country will greatly depend on the outcome of the talks and support he will get there.
The Prime Minister also assigns special importance to his visit to Germany, which will be the third within six months, which is significant of his high hopes regarding Chancellor Angela Merkel’s cooperation.
Antonis Samaras will be the main reporter to authoritative newspaper "Die Welt" at the Conference which will be held in Munich on 8 January. This conference will be a key event to start the New Year. Last January, head of the ECB Mario Draghi was the main reporter, and 2 years ago - Angela Merkel.
Also, as part of the efforts to attract investments, the Greek Prime Minister is preparing to visit the United Arab Emirates and possibly Qatar during the second half of January, since these two countries have expressed their interest in investing in Greece. More visits will follow to China and Russia. It is not yet clear, however, when exactly these are planned to happen.
