The funds which Greece needs to finance its deficit in the period of consolidation amount to 30 billion euro. European countries remain reluctant to pour more money into the Mediterranean country and the clash of interests between the lenders has blocked the programme. The International Monetary Fund threatens to withdraw from the programme if Berlin does not allow a new debt haircut, which this time will affect central banks in Europe. The issue is expected to be resolved next Monday at the earliest. What the consequences from that further delay will be for Greece is not yet known, but SYRIZA is preparing for elections.
