The swine flu infections in Greece are now 170 and 6 of them are from the last 24 hours. One of the infected is a health-attendant from “Shishmanoglio” hospital, which specializes in infectious and contagious diseases. Hospitalized there are more of the infected with the new virus. Doctors believe that the health-attendant got infected in intensive care, where a group of doctors from the National Epidemiological Center of Greece have arrived. The infected health-attendant is prescribed with the same treatment as the other patients.

It is characteristic for this stage that the illness is mild but virus experts and epidemiologists warn that towards the winter symptoms will become stronger. The Health Ministry reassures all citizens that all carriers of the H1N1 virus have been detected during the early stage and everything is under control. The ministry is expecting the number of infected to increase, because worldwide this virus is pandemic but the symptoms remain mild.

The new swine flu cases are: a 20 year old Greek-British girl, who arrived from the UK, one 27 year old Cyprian-American, who arrived from the US, two Greek women – 27 and 19 years old, who had a contact with previously infected people, and two more Greek man – 35 and 34 years old, who also had a contact with infected patients. The National Epidemiology Center of Greece continues the investigation on the four cases, infected inside the country.

From the 107 infected with the new flu, 31 have fully recovered.
