The summer is now here and in the next two months we are going to spend more and more of our time at the beach or near the pool. Here are 15 golden rules to observe in order to have a good time without disregarding safety:

1.     Those that cannot swim need to join a swimming school, so they can master some basic skills;

2.     Never swim in the sea alone when you are tired or have some sort of illness;

3.     If you have enjoyed a good meal, don’t go for a swim at least for three hours after;

4.     Do not use any alcohol before swimming, but drink a lot of water, especially in the hottest days;

5.     Avoid too much standing in the sun; strong tan is out of fashion, and not healthy as well; when you are sun-bathing, wear sunscreen with a high SPF;

6.     Never go too far from the shore and make sure you have enough energy to return; if you like long swims, swim along the shore. Avoid night-time swimming;

7.     Mind the floats- in order to be where they are, the must be a serious reason;

8.     Don’t go in the sea when the waves are high and beware of submarine streams;

9.     Never dive in unknown waters;

10.  In case of a storm of a strong wind, stay away of the water, and wrap your sun umbrellas;

11.  Never joke with the “Help, I’m drowning” call; make sure you have on you a number for a first aid center and learn how to give such yourself;

12.  If you get a muscle-cramp, do not panic; turn on your back, stretch it and pull the thumb to your knee; if this doesn’t do it, look for help;

13.  Pay extremely high attention on small children, never let the out of sight;

14.  Don’t throw glass in the sea, or any other garbage at all;

15.  If you are at a beach for the first time, carefully study the signs and read the information on the rescue-board, before examining the beach yourself.

Summer is the season for water slides as well, which are a favorite place for the children, and not only them. What do we need to know when at a water-park?

1.     Avoid clashes with or pushing out of the sides of the side;

2.     Be careful when throwing yourself from the slide, into the water;

3.     Avoid clashes with other sliders- children or adults;

4.     Watch out when you are walking around the pool or climbing the slide stairs- a minor trip can rin the rest of your vacation;

5.     Don’t get yourself involved in sliding contests, moreover do not let your children do it either;

6.     Never let children out of sight!
