Flights from Athens to Tripoli and Benghazi after a 17 year interruption

After a 17 year interruption the Lebanese airlines will start regularly flying between Athens, Tripoli and Benghazi. The flights will be twice per week, on Monday and Thursday. The ambition of the Lebanese airlines is to facilitate for the upcoming development of the trade, tourist and cultural cooperation between Greece and Lebanon. By doing this, the airlines will give an opportunity to investors from both countries to start new businesses.


Advantage of the first flight, which was from Tripoli to Athens, took the management of the Lebanese airlines, the Greek ambassador in Tripoli Petros Staphanou, representatives of “Mihail Psomas” company, which represents the Lebanese airline in Greece, and many businessmen. This first flight was greeted at the “Elefterios Venizelos” airport with a special ceremony, on which present were representatives from the Transport and Tourism Ministries and representatives from the Lebanese embassy in Athens.
