Submitting tax forms starts on May 5th

The deadlines for submitting tax return forms for employees and pensioners are from May 5th until June 2nd. The ones who do not have an income of more than ?6 000 for last year, will not have to submit a tax return form.


Deadlines for submitting tax forms


Employees and pensioners will have to submit their tax forms according to a regulation, which was published by the Chief Secretariat of Informational Systems from May 5th until June 2nd. The order will be according to the last number of the tax number.


1.    Until May 5th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 1


2.    Until May 7th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 2


3.    Until May 11th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 3


4.    Until May 13th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 4


5.    Until May 15th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 5


6.    Until May 19th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 6


7.    Until May 21st 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 7


8.    Until May 25th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 8


9.    Until May 27th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the number 9


10.  Until May 29th 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the numbers 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50


11.  Until June 2nd 2009, the accepted tax forms will be the ones ending with the numbers 60, 70, 80, 90 and 00 and the ones who do not have a tax number.


The ones who want to submit their tax forms over the internet through the TAXInet service (www.taxisnet.gr), need to have a ID number for access. They have to submit an online form on the mentioned website address at least five days before the official deadline, in order to be given the ID number.

It must be noted that together with the income tax form some documents can be attached, which can lower the levied tax amount or to lower the end tax amount of:


·         Rent expenses


·         Life insurance expenses


·         Student expenses


·         Insurance payments


·         Medical expenses and hospitalization


·         Charities


·         First apartment credit interest rates


·         Purchasing shares in a joint-stock company or in a mixed capital companies


·         Food expenses


·         Installing natural gas, photovoltaic systems, etc


·         Weddings, entertainment centers, fitness centers, plumbers, etc


The ones required to submit a tax form must know that:


·         Calculating the tax this year will be done with a lower tax rate—in other words between ?12 000 and ?30 000 the rate is lowered from 29% to 27%, for an annual income of between ?30 000 and ?75 000, the rate is lowered from 39% to 37% and for incomes of over ?75 000 the rate of 40% is kept.


·         The non taxable amount is increased with ?1000 in case of guardianship of one child, with ?2000 for two children and with ?10 000 for three children. For every other child, the amount increases with ?1000.


·         Every change in personal information should be reported to the register of the corresponding tax office, in order to be able to file a tax form. All employees and pensioners, who have incomes also from a real estate, must fill in an E2 form.


This year, together with the tax form an E9 form for real estate must be filled out.
