One of the greatest holidays of the year is coming up this weekend and I’m sure all of you have your eggs and bunny statues all over the house! Children across the ocean go egg hunting and here in Greece we simply cannot wait for Easter Sunday so we can compete who has the strongest egg. The feeling around Easter in Greece is great – you hear church bells all the time and you get ready to celebrate one of the biggest family holidays. Don’t worry, this week GRR HOT 15 will not entertain you with church music, quite the opposite – we will try to add to your Easter mood a touch of rhythm and excitement.

There is a little movement in this week’s top 3. Saki is holding firmly his number one place with his Eurovision song “This is our night.” Last Sunday the pop icon met with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. When the singer asked him for some prayers, the answer from the Patriarch was “Do you really doubt that?”  More information about the singer and his visit to Saint George Church you can find here. The amazing Bulgarian Cubanita is on number 2. Milenita started low with her song “Niama” but quickly reached the top! There is no doubt that talented singer will keep her high position. We cannot wait for her next hit to enter GRR HOT 15. The naughty boy in our chart, Kanye West with his song “Love Lockdown” went down with one position and landed on the lucky number 3.

Following are three Greek songs and one surprise on number 4. Andonis Remos jumped faster than expected with 4 positions! This is not unusual for the singer. Born in Düsseldorf, Germany he moves to Thessaloniki at age ten. After his graduation he has worked many jobs unrelated to music. His talent soon comes out and when he moves to Athens in 1995 he immediately signs a record deal with Sony. His debut earns him a double platinum certification within the first year. Following is sure success, which in 2001 brings him the title “Biggest star in contemporary Greek pop.” Lucky for him and for us that he decided to come to Athens and pursue his music dream!

Eleni Peta with “Val ta sta podia” is still protecting her last week’s fifth place. After a big jump of 4 positions last week, Eleni is keeping the suspense of whether she will go up or down next week. A fall of two positions brought C:Real and “An Ise Esi” to number 6 this week. After being in the lower end of the top 5 for two weeks, C:Real is falling and we will probably not see them among the leaders.

The lucky number seven is not surprising us again. Lady Gaga and “Love Game” stormed into GRR HOT 15 and this week jumped up with 6 positions! Some news on her other famous song – Poker Face – Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Common & A-Trak have sampled the acoustic version of the song and made a new track! It’s interesting and you can check it out here. Gaga’s other song in GRR HOT 15, “Just Dance” fell again this week to number 13.

The Greek Bob Marley, Stavros Ntantous had obviously made a safe bet on his great rhythmic song “Prosehe” because this week he jumped up with 4 positions, landing on number 8. So there you have it – summer sounds in the middle of the chart! Three positions down and currently on number 9 is Flo Rida and “Right Round.”  It is always sad to see such a great song go down but don’t despair! Yesterday Flo Rida shot the video to his new song “Sugar” in Miami Beach. The rapper had some problems because the director of the video wanted to have a white “chick” in the video but Flo Rida fiercely argued with him and finally succeeded having his black woman in. The song is very summery and the rapper made the right decision to shoot its video in Miami. So yeah, “Right Round” might be going down in GRR HOT 15 but we are expecting “Sugar” soon!

Number ten is a personal favorite! “In and Out of Love” by Armin van Buuren ft Sharon den Adel slowly climbed up with one position. I hope it will slowly reach the top and keep making our hearts beat faster for a while.

The second Bulgarian song in the chart “Avgust e septemvri” (August is September) by Miro is making a promising start. It entered the chart last week and this week it climbed up to number 11. If you still haven’t checked out the video, do it because it is worth it. Justin Timberlake and T.I. are following the Bulgarian closely and are on number 12 with their song “Dead and Gone.”

Again, two new additions to the GRR HOT 15 family – one Greek and one English song. Kokkina Halia with “Hartaeotos” is taking number 14 and Britney Spears with “If you See Amy” is on 15th place. It was about time Britney joined the chart and if we judge from charts around the world, she will climb up fast!

And now enjoy GRR HOT 15, Happy Easter and I hope your egg gets to be the strongest!
