Early this morning Ukraine stopped its natural gas supply to the Balkans. This affects Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, and Turkey. The Greek authorities assure all households that they will not feel shortage of energy. The Revitousa station has enough supplies, which guarantee the customer supply until Sunday including. Those reserves can provide 7 million cubic meters daily. At the same time, Turkey has offered Greece to increase its supply to the country with 700 to 800 thousand cubic meters if necessary. Right now Greece receives 2.5 million cubic meters of gas daily.

Greece uses around 8.5 million of cubic meters of natural gas daily. Despite the increased supply from Turkey and the reserves in Revitousa the country will have problems after Sunday, January 11th. In this case the gas supply will decrease to the biggest local consumers. The next delivery of frozen gas from Algeria, which fills the reservoirs in Revitousa is scheduled for January 20th.
