Car driving becomes more expensive from July 1 again because of the increase of value added tax from 21% to 23%. VAT will effect price increases for taxis for the first time because drivers will have to issue revenue notes with 11% tax.

Drivers of cars will also get scalded by the increase in VAT on fuel. Estimates are for increase of about 7.38 cents per liter for unleaded gasoline and 3.69 cents for petrol. Тhe increase in tolls as from July 1 will still empty the pockets of drivers. The 2% increase (from 21% to 23%) will affect the price of the fee and will not be paid by the company as happened with the previous increase (from 19% to 21%). The price will grow between 10 and 40 cents.

In parallel, the prices of season tickets for the Attiki motorway, whose owners paid between 10% and 33% lower prices so far, will be adjusted too. The new subscription prices of the e-Ρass programs will also apply from July 1. For the “Εxpress” car program they are formed to € 2.52 for a crossing point and for the “Friendly” and “Βusiness” programs the price is € 2.52, € 2.24 and € 1.96 depending on the number of crossings. The “Βonus” program keeps the option of 15 free passes over a month.

The increase in tolls will apply to all motorways in Greece, the stations on the Aegean highway on the Athens-Thessaloniki route, and to all points along the Olympic road (Elevzina, Istmos, Zevgolatio, Rio, Nea Peramos St. Theodore). Fees for cars for the Corinth-Tripoli highway also increase, but prices for motorcycles remain unchanged, Journal Vima reported.
