This summer the hit Last Summer was constantly on the radio, we listened to it in the clubs, on the radio and watched it on TV and no one could believe at first that the singer is Greek. And if almost no one remembered the boy that took the third place in Super Idol 2004 until this year Nikos Ganos is already super famous and considered to be the new idol of pop/dance stage in Greece.
He is a bit extreme. He looks like a cool guy with his slipped pants, shaggy short hair and sneakers that is hanging out with his skateboard around the city all day long. That is the way he is, you're right. And he also likes snowboarding in the winter, painting graffiti on walls and making short films with his friends.
Nikos Ganos made an impression this spring with his first album - Ahead, which has five songs, including the hit Look What You Did (Κοίτα τι έκανες). "I would say that I am a man who looks ahead without forgetting the past. I do not think anyone can go ahead if you do not remember your mistakes and experiences," says the young singer wisely in an interview for www.stylewatch.gr.
The truth is that his single Last Summer, which was released in May 2010, produced again by Heaven as his previous album, broke all charts and Nikos’ fans increased. His groupies even proposed him on his facebook page to present Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Although Nikos has become very recognizable for a short time he is obviously not dazed by fame. He seems spontaneous, a man on earth of quick mind and diverse interests who does not differ from his peers. The Last Summer performer says the places he likes to visit are from the trendy neighbourhood of Keramikos to the beach area in Glyfada, but his favourite place remains Tisio, where he can drink his coffee looking at the Acropolis. Nikos said he likes Italian cuisine and cinema, but he will in no case miss a film with Johnny Depp.
Despite the difficulties and the crisis in Greece, Nikos Ganos is optimistic, saying that all occupations could really go through a crisis period, but "this should not take us down – it rather should make us more tenacious! I believe in myself, believe in the work we have done with Heaven and I'm not going to take anyone's place, nor to imitate someone who already is in our industry and I think I will get my share of pop music audience," says the young musician to stylewatch.gr. His ambitions are to release many CDs in the future and to appeal to the audience, which will surely happen and he will succeed because he has all the qualities of pop idol - simplicity, charm, trim casual appearance, clear voice and a big fan club. We should mention here that women’s eyes nail him and the physique but he admits that only eyes would enchant him. Just to add that according to him, "Beyonce is of those women that whatever they put on you can not take your eyes off them."
It remains only to wish him health and good luck in the New Year as everything else will only come because he is obviously talented!
