live The names of 36 Greek politicians who are under investigation for profiteering

Nikos Tagaras – Former governor of Corinth and current member of New Democracy. The investigation against him began on 14 October 2011 and is still at the stage of collecting data from banks.

Panagiotis Fasoulas – Former deputy of PASOK and Mayor of Piraeus. He is under investigation on the base of a complaint filed.

Elpida Tsouri – Former deputy and Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs, Islands and Fisheries. She is under investigation for the period when she was a deputy.

Filippos Foundis – Candidate for deputy from Green environmentalists. The investigation against him began on 23 April 2012 and is in its initial stage.

Alexandros Voulgaris – Former deputy of PASOK.

Leonidas Tzanis – Former Deputy Minister of Interior in the government of PASOK. The investigation began on 31 May 2012. His bank accounts are being checked at present and his tax returns filed are being analysed.

Ioannis Antopoulos – Former Deputy Minister of Education in the government of PASOK. The investigation against him began in April this year after the disclosure of his involvement as a lawyer in other companies that are subject to inspection.

Anastasios Mandelis – Former Minister of Transport and Communications in the PASOK government. The economic police conducted a tax inspection of his bank accounts in the course of the investigation of the cases of bribery from the German company Siemens.

Ioannis Sbokos – Former general secretary to the Ministry of Defence. The inspection was initiated by a prosecutor's order.

Apostolos Fotiadis – Deputy Minister of Finance in the government of PASOK. A complaint for profiteering has been filed against him. His income and expenses from 2000 to 2012 have been under investigation as well as his property status and the tax returns he filed.

Fevronia Patrianakou – Deputy of New Democracy. She is under investigation on the basis of a complaint filed at the audit office of the state administration.

Nikolaos Andrianopoulos – Former secretary of the Ministry of Finance.

Akis Tsohatzopoulos – Former Minister of Defence in the government of PASOK.

Fotis Arvanitis – Former deputy of PASOK.

Dimitris Apostolakis – Former Minister of Defence in the PASOK government with Prime Minister Costas Simitis.

Christos Verelis – Former Minister of Transport and Communications. Investigated after complaints filed against him.

Konstantinos Liaskas – Former minister.

Christos Zahopoulos – Former secretary to the Ministry of Culture in the government of New Democracy.

Petros Mandouvalos – Lawyer and a former member of New Democracy. Investigated after a complaint for profiteering.

Michalis Halkidis – Former deputy of New Democracy. Investigated after a complaint for profiteering filed against him.

George Patoulis – Mayor of the Athens suburb of Maroussi. Investigated after a complaint for profiteering.

Karamanlis Foundation – a charity organization that has been under investigation due to financial mismanagement.

The leader of Independent Greeks Panos Kamenos responded immediately to the publication of the list. "I want to believe that my name is on the list by mistake, not intentionally. I firmly state that I do not own any property in Galaxidi. Everybody knows that my family has properties in its region of origin."

At the same time, the economic prosecutor Grigoris Peponis has ordered the conduction of an urgent preliminary investigation of the publication of the list. The purpose of the judiciary is to find the public officials who are responsible for the "leak" in the media of official documents related to an ongoing criminal investigation.
