Jeremy Irons will be in Athens in September

Renowned British actor Jeremy Irons is preparing to visit Greece again but not to perform in a theatrical play, as he did 4 years ago and enchanted the audience in the Concert Hall of Athens with his reading of the role of Ebenezer Scrooge from "A Christmas Story" by Charles Dickens.
    Jeremy Irons will arrive for the premiere of his film "Night Train to Lisbon" by Danish director Bille August whom we know from the film "The House of the Spirits." The actor, aged 65, will be in Athens from 18 to 21 September at the invitation of Hollywood Entertainment - the company that holds the rights for the film in Greece.


   "Night Train to Lisbon" is about the unexpected journey of a Swiss teacher who, in a moment of inspiration, decides to board a train and travel around Europe to unravel the mystery surrounding a book by a Portuguese writer. The character finds himself in Portugal where he gradually uncovers great secrets from the dark period of the dictatorship, the actions of a resistance group and a forbidden love triangle between two men and a woman.
   The screenplay of the film, also starring Charlotte Rampling, Martina Gedeck, Bruno Ganz, Christopher Lee, is based on the eponymous bestseller by award winning Swiss novelist Pascal Mercier. The book is considered as one of the most successful German-language novels. It has been translated into 15 languages ​​and is sold in more than 30 countries at present. It is already available in Greece due to the support of Psichogios Publications.
