It is possible New Democracy to make a government alone after the elections but it is not desirable

How do you see the future?

I think after everything I said I could not see it bright, especially as there is no reserve today. In 1937, during the Civil War, the two major city parties united, sacrificing the political leaders to cope with the danger. There was Eleftherios Venizelos in 1909-10, there was Konstantinos Karamanlis in 1974, and France had Charles de Gaulle in reserve in 1958. Today we have no reserve. There is no such person to which all eyes to turn and to be declared a leader. No such political capital currently exists.

If this government really does not survive until autumn and extraordinary elections are held, most analysts believe that no party would be able to form a government alone. What is your opinion?

Most people do not know that, the electoral law voted by the government of New Democracy that will be applied for the first time in conjunction with the dispersion of votes in many small parties does not preclude a party that will win even 35% of the votes to be able to form a government alone. Therefore, we can not exclude the possibility an extremely weak government led by Antonis Samaras to be formed and then things would become much more dangerous, because the political circle will be cut continuously. The government of Costas Karamanlis lasted about six years, constantly losing its prestige, the government of George Papandreou lasted a year and a half. Formation of independent government by Antonis Samaras at the rate of 35-36% would be the biggest tragic that can happen.

However, if election results do not allow this, then any number ratios could lead to the formation of a large coalition, because it could not be avoided. And possibly some forces might unite. So, maybe the best that can happen is the election result not to give full advantage to any party. And I am saying this, who has always supported the stability of one-party governments.
