Inevitable changes in life

Everything in life changes sooner or later. Heraclitus expressed perhaps the essence of life: Panta rhei or everything flows, everything is constantly changing and nothing remains the same. Very often, the people who seek my advice ask me, "Is this change for better?" I always say that there is no bad change, because everything in life changes and trying to stop change is like trying to stop life.

Today's article is about how we react to changes, how we accept them. There are changes that we ourselves want and make. There are changes that we do not want. Some changes create more difficult conditions and others make our lives easier. Nevertheless, the beginning is always the most difficult, because a change, even desirable, even if it is bringing something better than what we have, means leaving your comfort zone. Changes in life are inevitable and it is good to know how to handle them with ease when they are knocking on the door.

In astrology, the sign of Scorpio and its corresponding eighth house in the horoscope are associated with irreversible changes. This is the house of radical transformations. According to tradition, its definition is the "house of death". Do not take this definition literally. What are those things that make us feel like the irrevocable end is coming, after which nothing is the same? They are the unexpected and unplanned events that overturn our life. The eighth house is the house that puts an end to something in order to give birth to something new. That is the zone where we are deprived of comfort and find ourselves in conditions that put an end to various old patterns of life, by personal wish or compulsorily. So as not to give the impression that this is a "terrible and dreadful" house I will mention that very often some of the most pleasant things happen just because something puts an end to the old surroundings in which we have lived.

The sign that falls in the eighth house in the personal horoscope and the planet that rules that sign are the main factors that define our perception of radical changes in life, our response to them and how we take them.

Further on in the article I will give information according to the sign of the ascendant and the Moon sign. The Moon is extremely important for our receptive attitudes in relation to how we react to the world around us. The eighth house counting from the sign of the Moon in the personal horoscope gives information mainly on the instinctive emotional reaction to life's changes. While the eighth house counting from the ascendant gives information on what we do to be able to accept a change.

Ascendant or Moon in Aries
The eighth house falls in Scorpio and is ruled by Mars and Pluto. For better or worse, radical changes often come in your life and overturn everything. You respond very intensively, putting all your power in the changes, even somehow surpassing yourself. You fight to the end for or against the change - to prevent it if you do not want it or to achieve it if desired. You demonstrate great composure and have a strong instinct with regard to dangerous and critical situations. To accept the inevitable changes follow your innate survival instinct - it will show you when, how and what to fight and what to ignore. Use someone else’s resources - emotional, intellectual, material.

Ascendant or Moon in Taurus
The eighth house falls in Sagittarius and is ruled by Jupiter. You respond with huge internal optimism to inevitable changes, even if you are filled with pessimism on the surface. The belief that every change is a step forward is what helps you the most to manage, especially when you are faced with unwanted changes. You are open to life's changes in general, you know how to allow them in your life with ease. To cope more easily with inevitable and difficult changes, go on a journey to an unknown place, visit a temple/monastery, a religious place or meet people who are totally unknown to you, for example foreigners or people whom you have never met.

Ascendant or Moon in Gemini
The eighth house falls in Taurus and is ruled by Saturn. You are a very conservative person and accepting changes in life, whether desirable or not, requires a great effort from you. Due to your strong inner fear to leave what is safe and secure, sometimes you are ready to postpone things, even if you know that a change will bring much better living conditions. To cope more easily with inevitable changes that do not depend on you, stick to established norms and traditions, do not stop working, contact people whom you respect and whom you consider authorities. Spend some time in solitude in a deserted place.

Ascendant or Moon in Cancer
The eighth house falls in Aquarius and is ruled by Saturn and Uranus. Changes in your life come very quickly and surprisingly. Therefore, you are never prepared for them and do not have the faintest idea when they will overtake you. You quickly make even the desired changes, as if you have not pondered a little before that. To handle changes more easily, seek creative solutions and do not follow the beaten track. Actively communicate with your friends, visit places where there are large groups of people. You have a strong sense of the future and the right decisions for you are those that you have never used before. Do not be conservative.

Ascendant or Moon in Leo
The eighth house falls in Pisces and is ruled by Jupiter and Neptune. Changes in your life come very quietly and imperceptibly. When they are already a fact and you realize them, you have actually already accepted them. Although it may seem otherwise on the surface, inside you are able to assimilate and accept almost everything as it is typical of you to be aware that everything imperceptibly flows and changes. To cope more easily with difficult changes, rest more, sleep longer hours, ostensibly indulge in idleness. Make a donation, sacrifice something you value. Visit a place where you can feel the timelessness and transience of life, for example a monastery, cemetery or hospital.

Ascendant or Moon in Virgo
The eighth house falls in Aries and is ruled by Mars. Changes in your life come quickly and just as quickly, they become part of your life. When you face a change, you act decisively, rapidly and impulsively to cope with it, based on the principle that every change is a new beginning, not the end of something. That gives you an ease with which to "swallow" even the undesirable and inevitable changes. However, to cope more easily, be active and proactive, engage in sports, initiate something else along with the inevitable change. Apply the principle "Since I cannot avoid the change, let me change something myself."

Ascendant or Moon in Libra
The eighth house falls in Taurus and is ruled by Venus. For you it is extremely difficult to leave safeness, convenience and comfort. Even when you are faced with an inevitable change, you stay awhile in a state as if nothing has changed, refusing to accept it. This type of reaction "there may be a change but it does not concern me" helps you to gradually get used to it. To deal with this more easily, surround yourself with your favourite things or buy something that you like very much and that will make your life more convenient. Indulge your senses in every possible way, securing yourself comfort in abundance.

Ascendant or Moon in Scorpio
The eighth house falls in Gemini and is ruled by Mercury. You typically like changes and find it easy to cope even with those that are not particularly desirable and are inevitable. Your react quite reasonably and intellectually by trying to adapt the change towards yourself and not yourself to the change. You cope easily when you have all the information available, read a lot mainly about those things that have changed. Travel and be among people, be curious about everything around you (even if it does not directly concern you), have all types of communication equipment at your disposal, let your car become your best friend for a while.

Ascendant or Moon in Sagittarius
The eighth house falls in Cancer and is ruled by the Moon. You are one of those people who react very emotionally, even to minor changes. Especially if they are unwanted and unavoidable, you become an ocean of feelings, emotions, tears and everything that is a product of human emotion. You go through all similar moments from your past, remembering the old emotions. To cope more easily with the difficult changes, go to your family or to a place where you feel totally at home and can relax. Look for people who gave you peace in your childhood, remember how you overcame changes in the past and grasp these modes of action.

Ascendant or Moon in Capricorn
The eighth house falls in Leo and is ruled by the sun. Typically you react very dramatically to even the smallest changes. Desired or not, you take to heart every change. However, the interesting fact is that along the "fire" of the change you quite actively charge yourself with vital energy and obtain a lot of strength. Changes make you feel as if you have undergone a clean, new and fresh blood transfusion. However, to deal with difficult changes, tell all about them, so that they become a sort of game, show, spectacle for others. Try to transform everything you experience into something artistic and creative.

Ascendant or Moon in Aquarius
The eighth house falls in Virgo and is ruled by Mercury. You react to changes as if they are something that comes to improve the quality of your life. Even if you are too critical at first, you instinctively feel how to make lemonade from the lemon. You have a very practical approach and know how to benefit. To deal with difficult and unavoidable changes more easily, undertake routine tasks, organize and clean the space around you, make a list of tasks, plan each day. You may make a diet to purify your body, thus preparing yourself for what lies ahead.

Ascendant or Moon in Pisces
The eighth house falls in Libra and is ruled by Venus. You react to changes in a very balanced manner but it all depends on how significant the change is. The more significant it is and especially if it is unwanted, the more you are ready to go to extremes - from a polite and courteous person, you may become an aggressive and cynical one, but the opposite is also possible. To cope more easily with the difficult changes, look for the closeness and support of your partner or the person who is closest to you. Do not stay alone, be socially active, mingle with people, allow your partner to guide you and make the important decisions while you are going through the changes.
