Happy Friday to all GRR HOT 15 fans! I hope the Solar Eclipse today did not affect you in a negative way. For those of you wondering what I am talking about I will tell you. Today January 15, 2010 occurred a very long annular solar eclipse, which will not happen again until 3043! The total length of it was 11 minutes and 7.8 seconds. The full eclipse was seen from Central Africa and the Maldives and a partial one was seen from Eastern Europe. You are probably wondering why I am telling you all this…well due to its energy a solar eclipse indicates change and it affects the relationship with ourselves and others. Due to this energy whatever you undertake today or whatever decisions you will make today, either negative or positive, they will follow in the future. So in order to try and influence your day in a positive way I will tell you what is happening in the happy world of GRR HOT 15!
Still number one this week is Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys. The song gathered 20 of your votes throughout the week, which undoubtedly made it the best song in the chart! Did you know that Jay Z and his wife Beyonce were named the top-earning couple of the year by Forbes magazine? Well, yes! And it’s the second time too! The couple earned $122 million last year! Jay Z and Beyonce made it to second place in another rank list – Most Popular Showbiz Couple, closely following Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi, who are number one. Unfortunately Beyonce did not do so well in GRR HOT 15 this week. Her and Lady Gaga’s song Video Phone fell with one position and landed on number seven.
One position up and on number two this week is Colors by Morandi. Once again Morandi managed to mesmerize us by making one more incredible song and this comes in combination with a great video. I don’t know about you but when I see such color and water effects I just sink into another world…a 3D planet Pandora world J! (For those of you wondering whether I am referring to the Pandora Box or something else, go and see James Cameron’s Avatar)
Pitbull entered once again the TOP 3 and this week he did it with his song Room Service. Unfortunately the rapper’s other hit featuring Akon is not doing so well. Shut it down fell with two positions and landed on number nine.
Unfortunately Truly by Maria Ilieva and Keith Thompson did not receive many of your votes and it kept its position from last week – number four. Maybe you did not like the song that much but the number 1 radio in Sydney ZFM ranked it at the top in its prestigious international chart! Bravo Maria keep going!
Here come Jay Sean, Sean Paul & Lil Jon! Their song Do you remember climbed with three positions and is now on number six! It’s approaching the TOP 5 very fast and I will not be surprised if this song is Empire State of Mind’s next big competitor! But how did Do you remember come to us? How did an English boy (Jay Sean) make it among the big fish so fast? Well it all happened ‘on the red carpet, doing an interview,’ he remembers. ‘Sean Paul is over there and he goes, 'Yo! Yeah man, Jay Sean!' And I said, 'Hi Sean ... Paul.' This was the first time I'd ever met him. And he just said, 'Me and you need to work together.' Two days later I called him and sent him the track, and he sent it back to me the same day — and he was in Jamaica." And few days later the song was a fact! Well, one more proof of the importance of chance – being somewhere at the right moment and the right time!
Number eight this week are Kokkina Halia with their touching song I agapi theli hrono. The song climbed with two positions and it is starting to go up in a faster rhythm! On the other hand Pano ap ola by Mironas Stratis fell with two position and things are not looking that good. If we believe in the energy of the eclipse, unfortunately Mironas will not be part of the chart next week…
The new song from last week is doing very well. Morning after dark by Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and SoShy made a big jump of three positions, which brought it to number eleven. This big jump even helped the singers get ahead of Lady Gaga, whose song Bad Romance climbed only with one position and is now on number 12. Mentioning Gaga did you know that last night she was forced to cancel a concert in Indiana because she passed out? Lady Gaga is one of the hardest working stars in showbiz right now and if anyone needs to rest it’s her! After taking her behind stage paramedics said she was suffering from breathing problems. Gaga was so devastated because she felt she was disappointing her fans. She apologized numerous times in her Twitter account but I she doesn’t have to feel bad! We know she didn’t fake it! Now all she needs to do is rest because the concert was rescheduled for January 26.
Bulgarian charmer Miro jumped with two positions and his song Ubivame s liubov is now on number 13. The competition in the chart is tense right now but I believe in him and in you! Get to know him and vote for his song in order to push it up!
It seems that finally Sexy Bitch by David Guetta and Akon will leave the chart next week. The song fell with three positions, which put it on number 14. What can I say? This song will forever remain the number one summer ’09 song!
The new song this week is a long awaited one! Finally Black Eyed Peas joined GRR HOT 15 once again, but this time with their hit Meet me Halfway! I know you know the song and I know you like it! So vote and make the competition in the chart even harder!
