Hello my dear GRR HOT 15 friends! Last weekend was the first Eurovision semi-final and the Bulgarian fans chose Miro’s song You are an Angel. As I told you last week, Greece will be voting for their Eurovision song on March 12…I can’t wait to see which song they will choose! Now, this weekend another event will shake up the entertainment world – the Oscars! Unfortunately, the awards will be given around 03:00AM our time Sunday night. But for those of you lucky enough to be in the US right now or if you can watch the event live on TV, all I can say is that I envy you (in a positive way of course).
From the movie topic back to music! This week number one in GRR HOT 15 is Black Eyed Peas with their song Meet me Halfway! The hit climbed with one position and took over the long awaited lead! There are some really good Greek hit climbing up too and in the weeks to come we will see whether BEP will be able to defend their spot!
One position down and on number two are Kokkina Halia with their song I agapi theli hrono. The hit was leading the chart for three weeks, which came as no surprise since the group is one of the best in Greece right now. They drive every chart and concert hall crazy!
Attention! Achtung! Atención! Haha, don’t worry I am just exaggerating but still… - Backgammon Dice by The Festival Band entered the TOP 3! With the beginning of March and the hope for spring, the reggae rhythm got to you! This is great! The song is incredible and I am very happy you like it…I bet it makes you dream of summer, he?
Following on number four is Rain by MIKA. The song climbed only with one position this past week but I am guessing that slowly, slowly it is heading for the very top. Do you want it to get there faster? If you like it, then vote!
After spending a lot of time at the top Morning After Dark by Timbaland, Nelly Furtado and SoShy fell with two positions and landed on number five. I don’t know why but for some reason I connect this song with winter and now that it is going down I can smell the spring grass growing. But, of course, this is just me and we will all agree that I am simply weird.
Here comes the other Greek band, which is taking over the hearts of Greek fans – Melisses! Their song Krifa climbed with two positions and stopped on number six. Good news for Sade as well! Her melancholic song Soldier of Life climbed with three positions and stopped on number seven!
Number eight this week is Do you remember by Jay Sean, Sean Paul and Lil Jon. Unfortunately the song fell with two positions and it seems that it is leaving the race. Nevertheless it is doing it with head up high because it managed to conquer the top.
Once again Akon is shooting for the stars and as always he manages to get to them! His song Oh, Africa, featuring Keri Hilson climbed with two positions and is temporarily resting on number nine. Such rhythm and liveliness will reach the top! I am sure of it!
Eh New York, New York…who doesn’t love New York?! Everybody does and this is one reason why Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys, was a favorite song for quite some time! Now the hit has fallen with three positions in GRR HOT 15 but that does not change the fact that the song is fantastic and makes you long for the city that never sleeps…
After a jump of two positions, number eleven this week is Sakis Rouvas with his song Spase to hrono. Together with Galia the Greek charmer drove all Bulgarians mad this week during MAD Secret Concerts. The concert was on March 5 at midnight and once again Saki made an incredible performance with his stage “mate” Galia!
Unfortunately Miro and his song Ubivame s liubov is going down. The hit fell with three positions and stopped on number twelve. On the other hand his Bulgarian colleague, singer Graffa, climbed with two positions! His song Ostaviash sledi is now on number thirteen and impatiently is waiting to climb even higher next week!
On number 14 is the first new song in GRR HOT 15 this week – charity single Everybody Hurts. Participating in this charity fund raising are, among many other, singer like Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, James Blunt, Jon Bon Jovi, Kylie Minoque and Robbie Williams. The video of the song is incredible, showing the real situation in Haiti right now and, of course, it has a positive ending. It has a positive ending because we all find the “human willing to help” within us and we give as much as we can for the ones, who have lost everything in this disaster.
The second new song this week and on number 15 is I’m in the House by DJ Steve Aoki and Zuper Blahq. This is the hottest hit right now, taking over radio stations, music TV channels and…out heads! The song is great and I am not surprised! After all a combination of the hottest DJ right now with will.i.am (Zuper Blahq is his artistic alias) can bring nothing else but a lot of great music and desire for dance!
I hope you will enjoy this week’s GRR HOT 15! Music is our life! Listen to it, enjoy it, dance and be happy! And don’t forget the Oscars on Sunday!
