Eurozone finance ministers have agreed at a meeting to grant Greece the mega tranche of 8.3 billion euro. "The result is positive and the Greek government meets the requirements," said Eurogroup president Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who announced that the first instalment of the tranche to the amount of 6.3 billion euro would be paid by the end of April. Then there will be two more instalments of 1 billion euro each. They will be paid in June and July, but only if Greece meets six requirements for each of these instalments. If this happens, the financial requirements of Greece will be secured for the next 12 months, according to Dijsselbloem. In his opinion the discussion of a new bailout to Greece is premature, as the European statistical office Eurostat has not yet announced its official data on the state of the Greek economy. It is expected that it will do so by the end of April.
