Easter with a view towards the election ballot boxes

The newly elected leader of PASOK has carefully started to distance himself from the affairs of the former Prime Minister George Papandreou. Venizelos stressed that, although he was not involved in the narrow circle of people where decisions were taken, he had expressed his disagreement with the slogan "there is money", with resorting to the IMF, with the decision to vote for the first memorandum with a majority of 180 MPs, with the characterization of Greece as a corrupt country, with the referendum.

In any case the leader of PASOK formulates his proposal for the future of the country - "it is shortsighted to dig into the past, while there is a risk of missing the boat", he said. That is why his staff has organized a concise programme of pre-election tours every weekend until the elections with speeches in sports halls, R press conferences, and meetings with voters. The idea is for PASOK to start talking again with the public, for the leadership to hear, but also to tell some truths, and to discuss with the voters its proposals for the rehabilitation of Greece.

The harsh reality that the headquarters of PASOK is facing, became evident in the procedure for the preparation of ballots: local party organizations were either non-existent or were not very responsive while those interested – were fewer than ever. Out of nearly 410 names required for the compilation of ballots, 285 were announced and this did not happen in all areas.
