Direct relatives of people who have had a type of cancer are much more threatened by the possibility of surffering from the same or another type of cancer. In many cases, there is a genetic background for the development of cancer. People with relatives, who have suffered from cancer of the colon, breast, ovarian and prostate cancer, should be especially careful and should undergo regular tests recommended by their doctor, because they are in the so-called high-risk groups.

In any case, we should not postpone our visits to the doctor's office if we have: wounds that do not heal; unusual bleeding or discharge from the breast, intestine or vagina; prolonged cough and hoarseness; hard lumps on the skin; a mole that has grown suddenly and that multiplies and changes; unabating changes in excrement and digestion; difficulty when swallowing; significant and unexplained weight loss.

50 years ago people died from cancer, without knowing the reason. Subsequently, through information and public appearances of specialists, modern man has learnt and continues to be informed about cancer, the factors that contribute to its development as well as about those that fight against it by increasing the protection of the human body. Doctors say that if everything mentioned above becomes part of the consciousness of us all, then we will made another step forwards to fight the disease.
