The first vaccines shipment arrives on September 15 and until then doctors are advising to wash your hands regularly and to get vaccinated against silicosis if you are part of the risk group.

210 new cases of swine flu were reported today in Greece. Now the total number of people infected with the new virus is 730. Most of them are in Athens - 299 and after that are Crete and the Ionian islands. Most of the people got infected abroad and following are the ones who got infected by being in contact with someone who has been outside of Greece. The number of people, who got infected inside the country, is quickly increasing. In most cases the illness passes in a mild form and without any complications.

Although, the condition of three patients is complicated. GRReporter already informed you for two of them, who are being treated in the ER of the University hospital in Iraklio, Crete. Both of them are men, 33 and 42 years old, who have been admitted with bronchopneumonia. The third case is a 16 year old boy from Great Britain, who visited Greece for his vacation and developed the symptoms of the swine flu. He is being treated in the children's hospital in the Athenian suburb Pendelis.

Meanwhile, on September 14, one of the biggest global pharmaceutical company will be ready with the new vaccine against the H1N1 virus and Greece will be one of the first countries, which will receive it. The first shipment will be delivered right away - on September 15. According to the government's plan, the vaccination will be free and will be done in schools, and for the public employees - at their workplace.

Until then, doctors are advising to wash your hands regularly and to be calm. Over usage of medicines, especially if they are unneeded, can be worse than the swine flu virus itself. Epidemiologists warn to avoid any forms of self treatment and if there are any symptoms, to seek for medical advice. Silicosis vaccination is recommended, in order to avoid complications as a result of the swine flu. This vaccine should be applied only after a doctor's recommendation.
