The Ministries of Transportation and Justice closely co-operate to prepare the legal framework which will be the base for prosecution against citizens who do not pay tolls and tickets. The government also plans to establish a new inspection service the officers of which will take up the checks in urban transport.

Moreover, the service for personal data protection enabled the concession companies to exploit pictures of car drivers who refuse to pay tolls. They will be able to start the procedure for ordering payment following the debt collection pattern.

In his today's interview with the newspaper Kathimerini Transport Minister Dimitris Repas stated explicitly that "Greece will not become a country of lawlessness", commenting on the movement "I do not pay." "Our goal is social perception of scroungers to be disregarded," said the Minister who qualified the public transport employees mobilization to strike as "recent choice" and promised electronic payment of tolls to be introduced within a year.

At the same time, the New Democracy press office sent a message to alert about the danger of stopping the bank funding for concession companies. "Cancellation of concession projects will have disastrous results. The government knows the problem and knows what are the solutions" mentioned the text.
