Ten of the richest men in Britain are of Greek origin

Yannis Christodoulou takes the 6th place in the rich list of Greek origin and the source of his fortune is also real estate. He owns 280 million pounds and another property magnate Andreas Panayiotou who has 250 million pounds is right behind him.
 
Next to the last in the top ten richest men of Greek origin is Dionysos Liveras, the son of the deceased Andreas Liveras. Dionysos father was from Kyrenia in Crete. He left the island and went to London when he was 28. He began to work as a salesman in a candy shop and a courier driver and five years later he bought the business. His company became one of the most successful producers of frozen cakes and in 2006 he sold it to the Icelandic giant Bakkavör Group for 130 million pounds. In parallel, Andreas together with his son Dionysos developed company for sale and rental of luxury yachts based in Monte Carlo. Andreas Liveras was killed in a terrorist attack in the Taj Mahal hotel in Bombay. The visit to the Indian megalopolis has been associated with the conduct of large marine exhibition, in which Liveras took part. After his death Dionysos took the family business, which is estimated at 215 million pounds for 2010 and takes the 294th place among the 1000 richest people according to the Sunday Times.

The tenth place is for John Goulandris aged 82, who is known for his huge shipping company. He still manages it with the help of his son Dimitris and the total value of their assets is estimated at 200 million pounds.
