"Callas decided to return to stage in early 1976 and sing along with the famous tenor Giuseppe di Stefano. But it was too late. The cortisone treatment did not actually help her at all. Quite the contrary – it worsened her condition. A year later the media announced her premature death from heart attack, according to official report. We should note that dermatomyositis is often accompanied by heart failure and arrhythmias."

With this research based on observations of videos of her performances, comparisons of kept phonograms and analysis of Italian headlines the scientists proved that the death of the legendary opera singer has been unfairly the result of suicide because of her love disappointment with Aristoteles Onassis who left her to marry Jackie Kennedy.

The research shows that Maria Callas’ passion to opera art has faded because of an illness, which she was aware of and had tried to hide from the spotlight.
