Every day we make some promises to ourselves and to others, but how many of them do we keep? We decide to do different things, but do we manage to be consistent in out actions and finish them off completely? Today's article will be about those qualities of ours - consistency in our lives, our ability to keep our promises, our ability to finish the job completely.
Sometimes a handshake and two short words are enough and we know that the promise, contract, commitment will be kept. Other times we hold long conversations and negotiations and we may even sign a contract just to be "on the safe side". No effect - most of the promises and commitments are not kept. We do it even with ourselves - we decide, we personally make a promise to do something and then we just do not keep it.
A promise is a verbal contract, not one on paper. In this contract there are always two parties who share a mutual interest in the performance of the contract. That is the story - this is all there is to it and the nature of the promise. While pursuing our own desires, we rarely pay attention to other people’s desires. And we often ignore them. We think they do not concern us. In fact the reason for the unfulfilled promises, for the lack of consistency and unfinished commitments lies precisely there.
As a consequence, it appears that we sometimes find ourselves in the position of someone who does not fulfil his promises. But sometimes we are in the position of the person to whom someone else did not keep a promise. For me there are no people who always and invariably respect their commitments. If they do, they surely only do it for certain people and certainly have a motive, they have a desire giving them will and energy.
From a purely astrological standpoint, on the basis of the individual horoscope alone one cannot make any particular division of people – this person keeps his word and his promises, that one does not. For me, as an astrologer, there are no completely irresponsible and heartless people and there are no absolutely responsible people who always keep their word. An avowed "unserious" person can become the most responsible person by being around someone. And vice versa - the most serious person you know may be totally uninterested towards someone or to give up in the middle of something he started. The key lies in the synchrony with the others and in the personal desires of the man himself.
When looking at a horoscope, the question is rather what would motivate the person to be responsible in his words and consistent? It’s the desire - this is the main ingredient necessary for making and keeping promises, for consistency in words and actions, of purpose fulfilment and responsibility. Venus and the Moon are the ones to give us that information in the horoscope. We are all looking outside for what we lack. We are looking for what we can not "produce" ourselves, we want it and this is our motivation to make promises and commitments to someone else because he can deliver it, give it to us, take us to it.
The most comprehensive example is food. Even if our body has a unique processing mechanism, we deliver our food from the outside. We go to work, we engage in some work, we promise to do, because we will get paid for it. And with the payment we receive we can obtain what we want.
The moon in the horoscope is the one to identify our needs, i.e. what we want. And Venus indicates our idea of what could serve us to fulfill these purposes. This idea is formed mainly in the world of matter – it has a shape, colour and odour. I will not go into details about what happens when the two planets in the horoscope are not in good sync. It is logical that in such cases it will often be a common phenomena for a person to make promises, which then he fails to keep or he commits to something and at some point in time abandons it.
It has happened to everyone to be enraptured looking at a wonderful meal and then when he tries it he finds out that he does not like it. Or vice versa - a seemingly simple dish that does not look very promising and attractive, turns out to be uniquely tasty.
All other planets that are somehow related to the moon and Venus also affect this. But this is an analysis which is better made by an experienced astrologer.
For readers I will provide a brief overview only of the zodiacal and houses positions. Venus and the Moon in the horoscope not only occupy a certain zodiac sign, but they also stay in one of the so-called twelve houses. The twelve houses are all external conditions of human existence and how they are experienced. Zodiacal sign is a subjective experience, and the house – the objective reality.
Look in which sign and in which house the Moon and Venus are, to understand the main things that motivate you to follow through your promises and commitments. Look at this also for the people who have disappointed you, or who have gained your trust – it will help you understand why it happened so.
Aries (or first house)
Here the driving force lies in the changes and challenges. Everything that inspires enthusiasm, admiration, amusement. There must be a struggle and victory, struggle and loss, and then again a struggle and win. Boredom, routine are killing. Do not ask of this person long term commitments and promises, binding him in the long run.
Taurus (or second house)
The driving force lies in the stability, comfort, luxury and money. A lot of money and stability for many years. Satisfy his material desires, or at least give him the opportunity to be able to satisfy them alone and this person will make and fulfil all commitments to you. His strength lies in routine, it is enough for him to know that his bank account is being filled up, and it is being filled to a satisfactory level.
Gemini (or third house)
The driving force here is intelligence - intellectual stimulus, solving "crosswords", a lot of communication, freedom, and games. If this person finds puzzles, mental and physical activity, you can be sure that he will keep his commitments and promises. Do not forget his possibility to flirt as much as he wants.
Cancer (or fourth house)
The driving force here is closeness, caring, the sense of stability and comfort. Security of any type (forever if possible) plays a major role - physical, emotional, mental. The most valuable thing is for this man to know is that he can rely on you for everything - always, forever.
Leo (or 5th house)
The driving power here is the attention and fascination he gets, the opportunity for personal expression, stylish games and fun. Let this person shine in all his glory, give him a stage and sophisticated audience, acquaintances with "important" people and he will keep his every spoken word.
Virgo (or 6th house)
The driving power here lies in the practical, reason and the details. Give this man an opportunity to fix, amend, organize and arrange. Put him in a clean environment, make for him a plan for years to come, provide him with rules for everything and you can count on the fact that he will complete any assignment. Do not leave him to handle the chaos.
Libra (or 7th house)
The driving force lies in communicating with others and the presence of a partner. This person doesn’t like doing anything alone. And do not ask of him to bear responsibilities or to deal with important things. Let him interact with people, give him an opportunity to be around many people. And the commitments and promises should include things related to the situation, the image and the surrounding environment. The practical side of life bores him, he does not want to deal with it. Isn’t that what the partner is for? With this person failure to keep promises and commitments is often observed. "Whoever is good at words, is weak in deeds"
Scorpio (or 8th house)
The driving force is passion, power and influence. The ability to go to extremes, making one nervous and walking along the edge. Things must be complex and deep, there should be an element of struggle and domination. For this sign it is the most difficult to make promises and commitments. But if it is made, it is well considered and examined and as a result of that it is almost always kept. And it must bring him a certain dose of money, power and influence.
Sagittarius (or the 9th house)
The driving force here lies in adventures, laughter and fun. Everything depressing chases that person away. He prefers to only deal with the ideals in life. Hypersensitivity and sudden change of mood, fluctuation between high optimism and deep pessimism, make him very inconstant in his desires, promises and in the paths which he follows. He is able to dramatically change each worldly attitude literally within minutes. Do not make him promise anything if you do not want him to disappoint you.
Capricorn (or 10th house)
The driving force for him is the availability of public and social status. Success in society, the classic and serious matters. He is ready to sacrifice everything only to stand on the highest material and social rung. Any promise he makes and any commitment are properly calculated and consistent with the direction which is also the "way to Rome". But best of all he bears his responsibility.
Aquarius (or 11th house)
The driving force lies in originality, experimentation, the unusual. Whatever would make him unique. Opportunities for some satisfactory patronage in terms of benefits and gains through sponsorship are also necessary. As well as a lot of independence and noninterference. Any restriction is an obstacle. Therefore there is also a slight imbalance - the commitments and promises made are also a type of restriction. This person makes them only as a last resort - when in this way he will get something unique and unrepeatable in life.
Pisces (or 12th house)
The driving force here lies in the dream, the joy of a carefree state of mind, the imagination. Promises and commitments, but only while dreaming. This person can be a cruel realist when he comes down from the clouds, after dreaming aloud to someone. Such people make many promises, and take all kinds of commitments. But they expire as soon as they step back on the land. Dreams do not necessarily always turn into reality. Here the motivation to accomplish something is actually the hardest.
