The vice president of Nokia Chrissy Sorumen shared the same point of view. She also admitted that the business should strongly use telecommunications, teleconferencing and argued that this is a very good way every company to reduce its carbon step. Telecommunications can save between 5% and 20% of energy on a global scale, explained Sorumen. She said that sustainability and green practices are not a choice but commitment for companies like Nokia. "More than 5 billion people use our equipment, and over 1.6 billion people worldwide use our phones," she said and pointed out that one of the main objectives of the new technology is to facilitate consumers and offer more advanced and more nature friendly technological solutions. In this regard, she gave some interesting examples of how mobile technology can help us save energy. If we check our email from our mobile phone (known today as smart phones) we should save 30% of the energy a PC usually consumes and 100% of the energy needed to run the desktop.
