"In the first six months, when I came to Greece, I had nothing, not even documents. Police chased me in the streets. I lived together with many other immigrants in a room. Then my brother came. I processed marble. Then I worked in the fields, in the province. I also worked in a furniture warehouse. Over the past three years I worked in a warehouse for clothes - nice clothes of famous brands. In 2010 I came across the lists of the Employment Agency. I study Greek at the same time. Once I saw a street performance of the "workshop". That was it. Throughout my life I have always repeated one phrase. "Try, try again". And I keep on looking, looking constantly. I don’t sit waiting. With the "Workshop" a new door was opened to me. I love the theatre, and I have also participated in films such as "slacking and uniform". Personally I have never been insulted. But I don’t go around the streets a lot either. From home to work, from work - home. Over the weekend, I go to the mosque. I live in Egaleo, I have some friends who are Greeks. I want to stay here. Before this, however, I want to return home, for my father to find me a wife, as is the custom in my country, get married and come back here with her".

"We are also people like you»

"I came with great difficulty. I worked in construction, doing any kind of job. From 2011 I have been in the «workshop» of Yolanda Markopoulou. I want to tell people that not all immigrants are equal. We may be foreigners, but we are not all the same. I say this confidently. And I realized this after the incident from last May, when because of a video camera the husband of a pregnant woman was killed. I didn’t go out of my home for a week. And when I went out, I thought that everyone is watching me, even from afar and I was afraid. I was afraid a lot. And I wanted to hide. "Dirty foreigner, why did you come here?" I hear them say. But I do not want to listen to them I don’t listen to them. I want to tell them that we are also people like them. And I say it in my own way. Do you want me to tell you? The sky and sea are the same colour. Rich and poor, all will lie in the same land one day".
