Ilias Kasidiaris’ next "battle" will be held on Monday in front of a monomial Chamber in Athens, where he will be tried for robbery, unprovoked dangerous bodily harm, unlawful carrying and using of a weapon. The civil action lawyers Clio Papapandoleontos and Marina Daliani, who are representing the victim, express their concern in a written statement that there will be "a smooth conduct of the case and hope that democratic institutions can protect the victim and the university community, which witnessed the incident, so that justice can safely do its job.

"Meanwhile, questions were being raised regarding the fact that while he was wanted by police Ilias Kasidiaris and his associates were taking care to update their support pages on Facebook and other social networks. There, members of "Golden Dawn" were posting comments, which were approving the actions of their representative against the "inferior women” and, mind you, they are left-wing as well!

Kasidiaris’ online message

Meanwhile, the protagonist in last Thursday’s incident Ilias Kasidiaris posted on "Golden Dawn’s" website the following message:

"The events that unfolded last Thursday morning in the ΑΝΤ1 studio were directed with only one goal - to provoke my final reaction. I apologize, I was dragged against my will in an attempt to disorient the public opinion. Their main goal was to strike a political blow at "Golden Dawn".

I was surprised at the immediate response of certain judicial authorities and the mass mobilization of police authorities, whose daily intervention is denied for all Greek citizens. I was not surprised by the challenging behaviour of specific publishers and journalists who did not hesitate to ask and to announce my arrest, even before the competent authorities hahad made this decision.

The justice system is required to remain sober, far from sponsors and contractors, foreign to any interests of politicians. I chose to remain silent for 48 hours, because I did not want to give the pleasure to television channels of dishonouring me again, showing me in handcuffs before the prosecutor. I will go to the prosecutor myself and I will file a complaint against the physical and moral perpetrators of any illegal acts committed against me during the last two days.

Above all, I am relying on the infallible judgment of the Greek people. A nation, which is ignoring the dirty propaganda of the entire system and is standing on the side of the Greek nationalists from 'Golden Dawn'."

Meanwhile, the tide in the public domain against the unprecedented violence of the parliament member candidate is growing steadily.

Detained members of "Golden Dawn"

Meanwhile, police have detained eight "Golden Dawn" members for the beating of a regular visitor to a cafe in the city of Veria. According to police the ones arrested are members of "a particular political party”.

According to a police announcement, at noon there was a clash between a group of anarchists and representatives of a political power, who were handing out campaign materials. With the intervention of police forces, both groups fled.

Subsequently at 5:30 pm a group of 15-20 people, members of a political power, went to a cafe in the city, attacked 5-6 regular visitors and began breaking the inventory of the cafe.

During the attack a 53-year-old man was injured, who was hospitalized because he needed medical attention.

Eight people, who were involved in the attack, were arrested including parliament member candidate for the Pella area Ioannis Sahinidis.

They are charged with causing injury, damage to property of another, insult and threat.
