The accident took place on 30 November when Paul and his friend Roger Rodas, owner of a tuning studio, were on their way back from a charity event. Roger was driving a red Porsche Carrera GT car and Paul Walker was sitting on the seat beside him. The car went off the road, hit a tree and both died on the spot. Paul Walker said that he had visited Greece many years ago and then had arrived in Athens for the Summer Olympics in 2004.

In addition to cars, he had a great passion for diving and marine biology. "The Greek islands are my kind of place to relax. Diving there is incredible," he said in the same interview.
