OAKA field triumphed in green as the basketball team of Panathinaikos thrashed the Turkish Efes Pilsen with 84-61. The green played fantastic and the match resembled more a show than a game. Panathinaikos reminded fans of its old glory. The team won the hearts of all who were at the field in OAKA with the brilliant victory.

The star of the evening was Nick Calathes, who scored baskets like magic. Mike Batiste joined him too. After his offense in the match with Olympia tonight he corrected his mistake and did wonders on the field. Batiste scored fantastic baskets minutes before the end of the match and the difference in the result became more than 20 points. So, Panathinaikos turned its back to the loss in Ljubljana a few days ago and played a fantastic match.

The greens took the lead in the beginning of the first part. The visiting team was not late to draw the score and thanks to the scores of Gönlüm and Wisniewski it even led by 12-10. But this was just for a while... Nick Calathes intervened and stopped the attacks of Efes. Tsartsaris also got involved and the score at the end of the first part was 15-12.

The second part began with very strong attack of Panathinaikos. Calathes and Perperogou started to attack. They led the team ahead by 10 points and completely confused the plans of Efes to significantly lead in the outcome. The shocked guests lost their rhythm. Panathinaikos’ defense which was hard to break turned out to be a problem for them. The Turks fell into deadlock metres to the basket and their attacks ended with nerve passes with no chance for points. Trapped by the enemy, they were increasingly lagging behind in the score and Panathinaikos made the difference in the result almost 20 points. Having gained the lead Panathinaikos relaxed and the difference melted. The second game ended 41-29.

The third game began with the home team’s scores. Sato scored two consecutive baskets from the very beginning. Turks, on the other hand, had no access to the opponent's basket again. Rakočević attempted to help his team but his points couldn’t change the difference in the outcome that was constantly increasing... The greens completely controlled the situation and did whatever they want on the field. The game ended 61-40.

The last game belonged entirely to Panathinaikos. They repeated their lead and triumph over the Turkish team. The fast and unpredictable Nick Calathes played a real show. Mike Batiste took part in the basketball show and Efes Pilsen felt dizzy.
