With the score 2-1 in favor of the greens ended the derby between the football teams of Panathinaikos and Olympiakos at the OAKA stadium in Athens. The meeting, which the two eternal enemies were eagerly looking forward to for, turned into a battlefield. The culminating point was just not one, the game proved to be a real spectacle, with a heroic turn in the result. Olympiakos expected to catch its biggest enemy motivated to fight, but... in a bad psychological state. But the greens were fed up with their failures and their desire to win tonight "dead or alive" helped to make deeds worthy of respect. After the goal scored by Miralas during the 37 minute they managed to find the strength to catch up and even, and later to surpass the enemy in the score, unleashed masterfully at the stadium.

Djibril Cisse on the other hand proved tonight that the power of his words is great. Furious because of the team's recent failures, he promised to fans before the match that this time he would play to win as if intoxicated. Thus, with the two goals scored the champion of the country once again showed its true face.

The game started with a stronger game on the part of the gurests. They did not hesitate to start the game offensively and during the first 45 minutes they were more dangerous on the field. Panathinaikos played nervously and chaotically and was trying more not to lose control of the ball, rather to pursue the goal positions. The first goal attempt of the guests to score occured during the 7th minute, Boumsong and Vintra managed to save the situation next to the pressured Dzorvas. Greens responded to the attack in the 11th minute when from a pass of the ball by Hristodulopulos, Cisse made his first attempt to score but Pardo saved the ball. In the 17th minute Cisse made another consecutive unsuccessful attempt to score.

In their effort to score a quick goal guests were almost about to make fatal mistakes. During the 25th minute because of a strong kick of Spiropoulos the ball ended up near the right beam of Pardo. The attempts to score of the white and red team yet ended with success during the 37th minute. Miralas striker managed to overcome three players and sent the ball right in the goal post of Dzorvas. The goal of Miralas broke Panathinaikos. The first half ended with 0-1.

But if at the end of the first 45 minutes the greens were broken and dead, then in the next 45 they "resurrected". They entered the pitch a completely different team. The opponent Olympiakos on the other hand was visibly calmed down after the advantage they had won. The greens proceeded with immediate attacks and it was clear to all that the "response" is a matter of time. It came during the 57th minute when Hristodoulopoulos passed the ball to Cisse and the latter scored a goal with a headshot, evened the score and inflamed the hearts of the audience. The second and more important goal also came in time. It was again scored by Cisse during the 62th minute, but this time from a penalty kick. In this way the greens "sealed" their victory tonight and... made their fans to go berserk with joy.
