3:1 was the final score in the women volleyball game between the teams of Panathinaikos and Olympiakos which was held on the field in Rendi. The match which was for qualification to the finals of Challenge cup for women sent Panathinaikos to the finals and eliminated Olympiakos…. The game was dynamic and both teams definitely gave their best, however the dominance of the guests was more than obvious. Since the very beginning they showed a strong game and stimulus to fight. They took the lead easily in the beginning of the first set. The hosts managed to get back in rhythm, however until the end of the set they could not take the lead. The white and red team started the second set more refreshed and with stronger desire to win. They managed to make up for the loss and show a more aggressive game. Muhlsteinova marked the beginning of the set with a great nailing of the ball in the enemy’s team. The game picked up its rhythm and after the 10th minute came the attacks of the guests. This was followed by an attack by the hosts especially the one made by Koleva and Hantava. The third set did not start well for the hosts. This exactly was the moment when they showed a psychological break down. Panathinaikos also made few mistakes – Tomasevic did not manage to save the ball twice in a row. After this the same girl attacked the enemy’s team and this attack marks the beginning of the upbeat of the greens. They managed quickly to take the lead and played the ball very well. Strong points for the greens were the 24th, 26th, 27th and 28th minute of the game when they had a very successful flood of attacks and scored points. Despite of the small problem in the defense they showed a very well organized and carefully considered attack. The last set started with points scored for the team of Panathinaikos, however as a whole both teams were fighting to score and were creating good positions for an attack. The set finished with few attacks by Olympiakos. Koleva managed to score for her team several times.
