Otto Rehhagel takes eighth place in the list of IFFHS for best coach of a national team for 2009

Coach of Greek national team Otto Rehhagel took the eight place in the world for best coach of a national team for 2009. Yearly chart for best coach of a national team is made by the International Federation for Football History and Statistics, members of which include 85 countries. With the 18 votes Otto Rehhagel got he left behind him names like Radomir Antic – coach of the Serbia national team and Gus Hidding – coach of Russia national team (both of them got 17 votes). Taking the eight place in the top ten of the best coaches in the world for 2009 as great success and very important acknowledgement for Rehhagel. This is the year when he took the team of Greece to the finals of the world championship. This year’s participation of the team in the last round of the World Championship is also the second time the country goes to finals in the history of Greek football. The expectations of the team and Rehhagel himself for the world championship are great - the dream of the German is to make the Greeks proud again. And here are the names of the other honored names of coaches in the list of the federation for 2009. The first place with 185 points takes Vicente del Bosque – coach of Spanish national team. Second place in the list with 151 points takes Fabio Capello – coach of England who lead the team of England to the finals in South Africa and third place is for Karlos Dunga – coach of the team in Brazil with 149 points. Following comes Marcelo Bielsa – coach of Chile, who takes the fourth place with 82 points and who also took the team to the finals. Robert Bradley (USA) took the fifth place with 32 points, Bert van Marvik – sixth place – Netherlands 28 points, Ottmar Hitzfeld – Switzerland seventh place with 23 points, Otto Rehhagel – Greece with 18 points, Radomir Antic – Serbia, ninth place with 17 points and Gus Hidding from Russia with 17 points on the tenth place.
