Olympiakos qualified for the quarterfinals for the basketball Euro league by defeating the Poland Asseco Prokom team from Gdynia with 86-70. The success which the white-red achieved in their second game with Prokom in Poland was strongly desired and gave them a total victory over the Polish team with 3-1. Their participation in the Final four in the Euro league will be for second consecutive time and for a sixth time in the history of the club.

Regardless of the final score the team of Olympiakos cannot be proud of a good start during the game. Its game was inert and insecure; it looked like it had difficulties finding the right rhythm. The opposing team used those weaknesses and they managed to get a 7-1 lead in the first minute. This first minute was like a cold shower for the guest team. The difference disappeared thanks to Sofoklis Schortsanitis and this gave the start to one real game in which the team entered with full steam. For the success of the white and red contributed the substitutions made by the coach. He substituted Halperin with Beverley and with this he strengthened the team. The entrance of the American on the field made the game of the white-red more dynamic and attacking. They managed to organize and attack faster as well as the team clamed down and got out of the chaotic way of playing. Thanks to this the first quarter ended with a score of 28-20 in favor of the guests. Again Schortsanitis was the one who won additional advantage for the team and this led to the score of 45-26 during the 18th minute. A positive contribution for the white-red had Papaloucas, who managed to show his talent once more.

The Polish team lost their initial rhythm and enthusiasm in the game. They had difficulties to score points as well as they loosened up their defense. His positions on the field lost also the player Logan who was the prime driving force for Prokom in the beginning of the game. In this way the first half ended with the score 50-32 for the guest team.

During the second half the Polish Varda managed to decrease the difference to 60-46 but the guests kept their calmness and managed to increase the score to 66-48. Milos Teodosic answered to the attacks of the hostsby scoring three points and in this way Olympiakos led the result with 16 points and got itself a ticket for the Final four.
