The National Gymnastics Championship ended without the participation of the stars

The National Sports Gymnastics Championship ended in the sports hall “Mikra” in Thessaloniki. Vasilis Maras, Lefteris Kosmidis and Vasilis Cholakidis were not present at the competition and Dimitris Markousis easily won the title with 85 200 points.


Second was Kostas Barbakis from Kavala with 84 250 points and third was Xenofon Kosmidis from the Peristeri team with 84 200 points. For the first time in its history the Greek Gymnastics Federation made a new men’s cup in memory of the Greek gymnastics leader Illias Topratzis, whose untimely death marked ten years. This cup was won by Stavros Kekelos, who had the highest daily score among men – 15 187.


The women’s competition was dominated by Vasiliki Milousi (56 100 points) from the Kalitea team, who ranked for the Mediterranean games in Peskara – Italy. The prizes were given out by the former Minister of Culture, responsible for the sports Georgios Orphanos.
