Lally Poulias is considered to be one of the five best yacht designers in the world. After working abroad for many years, he came back to Greece, in order to design mega yachts in his home country.

25 years ago Lali Poulyas started working with the best designer in this field Ion Banenberg and it is certain that he couldn’t expect that one day his signature will be printed on some of the most beautiful and luxurious yachts in the world.

Proof of that is that the yachts, which are designed by him enter the 100 best ones in the world. Poulyas’ career starts and reaches its peak abroad, and mostly in London but finally he decides to come back to his home country – a country where mega yachts are not a ohenomenon, which occurs often. Despite this, the famous designer managed to create three luxurious in Greece – Alissia – 85 meters, Annalies – 8 meters and RM Elegant – 72 meters. They were made in Perama and are an example of the art, which is mastered by the Greeks in this area.

“Like my other colleagues, I also work with 3-D and interior design. I start with the exterior design and then I decide the placement of the interior spaces and finally I work on the design of the furniture, carpets, clothes, and even the door handles,” shares Papoulias for “Imerisia” newspaper.

Mr. Papoulias says that the trends during the last few years have changed – ever since the Arabs and Russians entered the yacht market, it became usual to construct yachts more than 100 meters long.

“The important thing when designing a yacht is the satisfaction of the client,” says Mr. Papoulias. “Personally, I love to work with different styles, even though the language of architecture is based on classicism. I believe that no one has ever reached the perfection of the ancient Hellene. With classicism as a base, designers can create classic and modern constructions.”
