She captured us with the romantic old-fashioned ballade Mercy. Her charm was proven with the hits that followed – Stepping Stone and Rain on Your Parade. Of course, we are talking about the 25 year old Welsh Duffy, who is a talented and beautiful woman, who has lately been winning many awards! Rockferry became the best-selling album in the UK for 2008 with more than 5.5 million sold copies around the world. This brought her three BRIT awards and one Grammy. Without a question this makes her the biggest star of the 13^th Athens festival Rockwave, which will take place on June 27-29 in Terra Vibe in the suburb Malakasa.

The first ones on stage will be Placebo, who have already visited Athens before. This summer, the drummer Steve Forest will join the trio and after them, Moby will get on stage with a special dance-program. As we already said, the peak of the festival will be on Sunday, June 28^th, when Duffy will appear, in order to take us through her Rockferry. This will be only the beginning of the party, because after that, her place will be taken by Killers from Las Vegas. The eccentric post-punk musicians have many fans in Athens and their hit “Human” was leading most of the Greek chart for weeks. Here you can hear it once more:

The festival ends on Monday, June 29^th with the hard-rock legends Motley Crue, who are going to perform live for the first time in Greece.
