Municipal employees killed a mayor

Pangeo municipality cashiers admitted they are guilty for the murder of the mayor of the small city.

Policemen detained in Kavala Police Department two municipal officials in the preliminary investigation of the case. They are Greek citizens, 47 and 48 years old. They confessed to the murder during the interrogation. Investigating authorities reported that a 37-year-old person living in the same village is also an accomplice. For an undisclosed amount the assassins bought an illegal weapon - gun UZI, from him. Charges against the three will make the prosecutor of the city Kavala.

The responsibility for his liabilities the mayor was dividing precisely with the cashiers. Other sources reported how the two cashiers were trying to make contacts with businessmen from the region to cover the lack of €700 000 in the municipality fund.

Police Director for the Eastern District of Macedonia and Thrace General-Major Alexandros Bidzis said that the murder was committed in especially cruel manner. The mayor was hit with a sharp object many times on the face. On the crime scene police found also 14 thimbles.

Triandafilos Kukudis was missing since Sunday. Over the telephone he told his wife that he has a business commitment, and then in the late afternoon he met with the two cashiers. They took him near to a children's camp, where they inflicted many blows on his body. Subsequently, one of the perpetrators pulled out a gun and shot him. Then they hid his body in his own car, which they abandoned close to the sea. The victim was found 3 days later by a civilian policeman, accidentally passing along the place where the car was abandoned.
