The game from the Top 16 of the Euro league between the basketball teams of Maroussi and Partizan, played on the OAKA field ended with a final score of 57:49. The game from this evening was a continuation of the “lucky period” of Maroussi, which seems to intend to last long…The victory from the game with the team of Serbia is the second victory of the team after the end of the first round of the Top 16.

The game began by Maroussi taking the lead. The hosts lead the game by 11 points in the very first 10 minutes. A strong trump card for the team turned out to be the defense which stopped the guests from scoring points and was blocking most of their attacks. The fast scored points by the hosts had the effect of a cold shower for the guests, who strengthened their attacks and managed to decrease the difference in the points gained by Maroussi. This evening on the OAKA field were distinguished the players Lukas Jamon, Jared Homan, Pelekanos and Nadjfeji. Nadjfeji was the one who managed to gain an important advantage in a critical moment for his team by scoring a 3 points basket. Their lead the hosts managed to keep until the last moment and the attacks of the hosts were not a threat to them – there weren’t too many moments when Partizan was managing to get threateningly close to the score of Maroussi. And when this was happening it was activating the hosts even more. At the end of the game Calathes, whose presence on the field as usual destroyed all the hopes of the guests for a victory made his point.
