The case with hostages in the factory in Komotini has a happy ending. 40 minutes after midnight, after hours of negotiations, the 52-year-old kidnapper has released the two hostages. He has left his hunting gun and surrendered to the special forces.

It all started on Thursday, shortly after 1 pm. The armed man had broken in the dustbin producing factory located in the industrial zone in Komotini. After telling the women working there to leave the room, he detained two men in hostage and started the thriller that lasted for 12 hours. When he broke in, he wounded the director of the factory Athanasios Andrianopoulos in the neck, arm and ribs and the worker Emil Marinow.

Dimitris Manikas is a former employee of the company. He worked as a driver there from July 2000 until August 2011, when he was fired.

As GRReporter has already reported, his request was to be reappointed and to be paid 31,000 euro, which the company owed him in his words.

The police said that they had communicated with the two hostages on the phone all the time.
