Hackers attack three Greek banks, requesting a ransom in bitcoin

Three Greek banks were hacked on Thursday, when the group Armada Collective blocked for hours their internet banking services, requesting a ransom in bitcoin. The deadline for the payment of the ransom expires today. To calm citizens the Greek police state that there is no risk of personal data theft but of thousands of clicks on the internet banking pages that actually stop responding due to the heavy traffic. A group of experts from the Greek intelligence service to combat electronic crimes and the Bank of Greece is investigating the case.
    The operation against the hackers involves the national telecom OTE and other internet providers that are trying to increase the speed to avoid the blocking of internet banking pages.
    Armada Collective is a relatively new hacker group, which appeared with attacks against banks in September this year for the first time. About a month ago, it attacked banks in Switzerland too.
