The Greek team wins at European basketball Championship

The Greek national basketball team won against Slovakia with 64 to 59 at the European basketball Championship, taking place in Riga.

Now the Greeks, who are meeting the Italian team today, will have the opportunity to fight for fifth position that would give them the right to participate in Mondobasket in Prague.

Kostas Misas team had control over the game since the beginning, but in part 3 Slovakia improved their play and even led the scores with 45-39.

After the immediate reaction of the Greeks and the aggressive lay of the veteran Evina Malci, they won. The 33-year old player gained 23 points.

After the game the coach Misas said: “We have to play in two games for less than 20 hours. After we won against France we knew we had no chance but beat Slovakia, too. Our game was determined and we deserved our victory.”

Greek is playing against Italy today, who won over the home team with 68-66.

In the quarters: 11-17, 25-32, 47-42, 59-64.
