The Greek tanker ELKA Athina that yesterday detected some suspicious objects in the Strait of Malacca could not find traces of the fatal flight ΜΗ370. The vessel had to sail more than 4 hours to approach the objects that resembled floating suitcases. When, in the night, the ship reached the latitude of 0551 knots north and the longitude of 09657.5 knots east, an area north of Sumatra, there was nothing there, neither floating objects on the water surface, nor any traces of the missing Boeing 777 of Malaysian Airlines.

Before iefimerda news website, vice-captain of tanker ELKA Athina Dimitris Karagiannis states, "The situation in the Strait of Malacca is like a normal day at sea. There are neither ships nor rescue teams carrying out a search operation; there are no helicopters either. In other words, there is no indication that a plane that disappeared 10 days ago is being searched for in the region." The crew has been instructed to communicate with the authorities in Indonesia, as the strait is part of its territorial waters, just in case they find any remains of the fatal flight ΜΗ370.
The vice-captain of the Greek tanker also reports that none of the ships sailing around has detected any objects in the sea. "In the case that anyone finds something suspicious he must inform all the others around," says Dimitris Karagiannis. According to him, the weather conditions are excellent and it makes the detection of floating objects much easier. "Since we detected the signal the sailors on duty have been more careful in order to recognize in time any suspicious objects in the water. We are all on high alert," he states.

Boeing 777 of Malaysian Airlines was servicing regular flight ΜΗ370 from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on 8 March 2014, when it disappeared from radars. Already 9 days global aviation cannot explain what happened to the passengers and crew on board.
