Peroxide hair, numerous tattoos, and bizarre behaviour in and outside the stadium. This is the international soccer ace Djibril Cisse who got into the spotlight again.

The central Panathinaikos striker came to the Status magazine sportsman of the year awarding ceremony wearing a black skirt of large pleats. The clovers’ captain combined the skirt with a narrow black shirt, white jacket and black punk boots Doc Martens. Many and large silver rings, Buddhist bracelets and ethnic pendant were the accessories that complemented his eccentric appearance.

Besides sport and football Djibril Cisse is nuts on very expensive cars and fashion, so he often chooses eccentric clothes for his public appearances. Some years ago we was also wearing a skirt designed by the famous Jean-Paul Gaultier.

His wife Jude Cisse had warned through the social network Twitter, that Greece was not ready for what Djibril would put and she turned out quite right. Of course, Cisse is a star not only in Greece but throughout Europe. And as a kind of showman he seeks to impress and attract again the interest of his audience.

But, as always, Greek sports media and not just started murmuring about the choice and the semantics of this particular clothing. His picture was published even on the front pages of several sports newspapers which immediately grabbed the opportunity to heat the air before the upcoming football derby between the "eternal" rivals Olympiakos and Panathinaikos next Saturday.

"Cisse is trying-on. Come to the stadium in your skirt" is the title of the "red" newspaper Champion. The answer to this blatant appeal can be found on the first page of the "green" by name newspaper of Panathinaikos’ fans "Olympiakos lover aired...his eyebrows before the derby. He showed them!" The fans of Olympiakos took the baton and began the mocking. He is wearing a skirt to be prepared for what is going to happen to him and his team on Saturday.

The language of football fans is not much different from the stereotypes of male aggressiveness during sex. Every shot is a seduction and each goal is penetration. Therefore, another title has become a slogan, "Put on your black dress and come to the port." Not to mention that victory in the language of fans is tantamount to rape. Allusions, metaphors and comparisons about sexuality which must necessarily be used are always the same.

The other media made a lot of fuss too. Commentators have gone back years ago and recalled Valentino’s skirt which Sakis Rouvas wore during one of his concerts. The same garment was preferred by another representative of the pop music Giorgos Mazonakis.

Hints that he is metrosexual or gay rocketed into the air as tennis balls. And a MP from the far-right party LAOS known for his knowledge about ancient Greece began to "educate" the Greeks that the tolerance of ancient Greeks to homosexuality was a myth.

According to Djibril Cisse himself in Africa where he comes from this is common wear. Wearing skirt or not, the Frenchman whose roots are in Côte d'Ivoire is the leader in the Greek championship with 18 goals scored in 22 matches.
