The news website CNN.gr, a product of the cooperation between CNN International Commercial Group and the Greek company DPG Digital Media, is to be launched this autumn. Its contents will be in Greek, delivering both international news and news from Greece.

CNN.gr will be available both online, and through a smartphone application. Both companies will closely cooperate until the official launch of the website to apply the highest standards and the experience of CNN both in the selection of editors and in the technological and digital publishing processes.

The editorial office of the new media will be in Athens. It will be supported by the London office of CNN, which is the largest international office of the global news network. Through its cooperation with DPG Digital Media, CNN will expand its news sources in Greece.

"As the world’s global news leader, our ambition is to continue the development of CNN and to offer our unparalleled quality in important markets that have the necessary conditions and dynamics," said Rani R. Raad, Chief Commercial Officer of CNN International.

For his part, DPG Group manager Dimitris Giannakopoulos said, "We are delighted to become members of the CNN International family through this strategic partnership". "CNN.gr aims to provide Greek and international news, promptly and accurately with the unique quality standard of CNN, to all Greek speaking readers, bringing at the same time the members of the Greek Diaspora closer to the homeland of their ancestors," he added.
